About teddybear818

I am of the generation where the cost of living is so high, for young adults, many of us must move back home with our parents, or never leave until our money situation changes.

I have filed bankruptcy at 25 years old due to many different circumstances. Which were always be a responsible young adult where I have worked since I was 15. Being properly taught the value of money, but not the value of myself. Settling for mediocre pay, pay cuts, and inflation all the while still trying to be a productive part in society. Go to college and pay off student loans. Having the freedom of a car, paying the note and insurance.

Having everything in my life go wrong because of the lack of money, mismanagement of it, when juggling bills, and responsibilities. Not having children of my own due to the fear of not being a good provider.

I am currently still working two jobs in the education fields, and still not making ends meet. I moved back home two years ago with my Mom, to end up feeling like a failure. Stuck in the "chase your tail", perpetuating cycle with finances. I can't make more money to pay for certification tests to be a NYC teacher, because of so many reasons. "You cannot move ahead unless certain roadblocks are removed" – I. Teddy Bonet
So you wind up living a mediocre existence, never fully happy, never able to help others the way you would want to, and not feeling proud of yourself- no matter how many things that a person has accomplished in your life...

Thanks for your time.
Sincerely
I. Teddy Bonet

About women_in_business

It is important for women in business to do what we do best, network!

I created this space for all you entrepreneurs or busy moms that are looking for a legitimate and viable source of income to come to.  After all, the best attribute of being female is our ability to come together and to share our experiences, wisdom and skills with our family and friends.  So make that strength a key factor when it comes to your business.  Why reinvent the wheel when time is an issue, babies need to be fed and food is cooking in the oven?  I say, let's not reinvent the wheel...rather let's make it more modern, more efficient and better!

And a special note to full time housewives and homemakers:

You are such a blessing and a key asset.  Did you know that the estimated average salary for what you mommies do is equivalent to around $75,000 - $120,000?  Nannies who care for one baby gross about $75k/year.  And that does not include cooking, cleaning and all the things you do.  So be proud, hold your chin high, for to impart your love, time and devotion to your children will impact the world so much more than you can imagine!  But if you find that extra income is something you'd like to have as well, why not?  This is the place to be.

So tell us your dreams, your vision and your goals.  For this is the place for it.

So please, let's post ideas, advice, wisdoms, do's and don'ts and anything you can think of, from business ventures and opportunities for women, to loans and grants and anything that will help to empower women today!

The Photographers Dream

I'm a photographer by trade, I like to think that I can see the beauty in nearly anything. I take photos of what I like, what I think is beautiful, or interesting. Its become by passion and quite honestly a bit of an obession as well. Prior to my photography work, I was and in essense still am a stay at home for the past 11 years. I felt the need to do something on my own. Something just for me. I realize this sounds selfish but in my mind family always comes first and I always share everything with them. But this project was going to be just mine. My baby if you will. It began with nature photography several years ago but that lacked something, a connection with other people.

Over the past year I decided to branch out and start photographing people other than just my family. I love what I do. Ive enjoyed learning, trying new things along the way, as well as getting to know that people that have crossed my path along the way. My hope is to one day have my own studio. I am currently looking into small business grants to assist me with this. Unfortunately, most of what I have found on the web are too specific on their requirements, they dont apply to me or even worse the links are of no help at all.

I won't lie to you and tell you that I'm poor. I live in a modest home and we live comfortably. We have food on the table each night, no sickness in the family and I have the financial means to pay my bills on time. We are in debt due to my using credit cards to acquire the equipment I needed to get started. I just need a little help to get to the next step. All I need is a studio and some better lighting equipment.

My primary interests for the studio in this would fall under 3 categories:

1. Boudior Photography- I love helping other women feel good about themselves. I worked with an aspiring model that isnt exactly what main stream modeling would be looking for. We took some pin up and lingerie style photos to add to her portfolio and mine. I was on the phone with her as she reviewed the images on line. She exclaimed "You made me beautiful!". I did nothing, she was already beautiful, she just didnt see herself the way that I did. Id like to show women of all shapes, sizes, colors, and with flaws how beautiful they are. Not only does this help with self image but its boosts self confidence as well.

2. Artistic Nudes- In this day and age, some frown upon these. Again this is to show how lovely the human body can truly be and shouldnt be ashamed of.

3. General Artistic- I'm not sure how else to describe this other than that. I have a plethora of ideas that would be listed under this category, its way too long to add it all here. Id like to project images that make you think and re-evaluate the way life is seen.

If anyone can suggest anything that would help me to reach my aspirations, I would appreciate it. I feel that this is something I was meant to do. This is my way of trying to change the world for the better.
